Details for pre-season Western Derby 2.0 have been locked in this afternoon.
Fremantle and West Coast will lock horns for the second time in as many weeks on Sunday, March 7 at Optus Stadium.
Unlike this weekend’s clash at Mineral Resources Park, crowds will be allowed in.
The match, which will start at 4.10pm, is expected to have COVID-reduced capacity of about 35,000.
MORE AFL:
It replaces the two original AAMI Community Series matches scheduled for next week, Adelaide versus the Dockers on the Saturday and Port Adelaide against the Eagles the following day.
AFL fixtures boss Travis Auld explained the revised pre-season schedule was to minimise risks around coronavirus state border restrictions by avoiding travel before the regular season.
“The changes to the fixture are consistent with the league’s approach to best managing the risks around COVID by minimising travel for teams where possible across both the men’s and women’s programs,” Auld said.
Ticketing information will be finalised in the coming days.
