Isuzu has revealed the Australian version of the all-new MU-X, with local customers able to place their order via a new website from today ahead of its arrival in showrooms in the coming months.
The first 1500 people who register to buy will also score a limited edition Isuzu Ute-branded Casio G-Shock watch.
We’ve known what the new MU-X will look like for some time as it was launched last year in Thailand, where it was built.
It has the same angled headlights and Isuzu’s signature double horizontal bar grille as the D-Max ute it’s based on, with top end models also scoring bi-LED headlights with LED daytime driving lights and big 20-inch wheels.
While local details are yet to be revealed, Isuzu says the Australian MU-X will “evolve” from the Thai version.
Like the D-Max, the MU-X will have a full suite of safety features through Isuzu’s Intelligent Driver Assistance System, while the seven-seater’s cabin has a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay — presumably in higher grade variants.
However the MU-X is expected to offer even more than its ute sibling, with the brand claiming it will have “unprecedented levels of equipment and technology previously unseen in any Isuzu before”.
The MU-X will have the same 140kW/450Nm 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel as the D-Max.
Pricing and line-up details will be revealed closer to the vehicle’s local launch.
