A 34-year-old man has died after his car lost control near Bunbury last night.

The man was driving a Landcruiser Wagon that rolled when it drifted on to a gravel shoulder north along South Western Highway near Lillydale Road in North Boyanup about 10.50pm.

He was the sole-occupant and died at the scene.

Major Crash investigated the scene into Saturday morning and would like to speak to any who saw the crash or either vehicle travelling in the area.

According to the Road Safety Commission, 27 people have died on WA roads in 2021. Of which, 17 were travelling regionally and 10 were in the Perth metropolitan.

In 2020, 155 people died in WA car crashes — which was only slightly down on 2019’s total of 164 fatalities.
