AFLW 2021: West Coast Eagles name eight new faces for clash with Adelaide Crows | Ralph Lauren

West Coast will field eight new Eagles tomorrow when they open their 2021 season against two-time premiers Adelaide at Mineral Resources Park.

Draftee Bella Lewis, Shanae Davison and Andrea Gilmore join Irish recruit Aisling McCarthy, Peel WAFL premiership defender Demi Liddle and South Australian Amber Ward in the line-up for the first game of the year.

Former Fremantle defender Brianna Green finally makes here debut for West Coast after missing last year with injury, while fellow ex-Docker Tayla Bresland has been named at centre-half-back after she came to the cross-town rivals in the off-season.

Excitement machine Niamh Kelly is also fit to play after missing the pre-season derby against Fremantle earlier this month with a hamstring injury.

West Coast will be hoping to begin the season with a win after claiming just one victory in 2020.

Adelaide’s first-round draftee Teah Charlton will make her AFLW debut, while forward Ashleigh Woodland and defender Lisa Whiteley will play for the Crows for the first time.

Crows captain Chelsea Randall, who hasn’t played an AFLW game in 671 days because of a knee injury, has also been named to make her long-awaited return.
