Colour has burst over Araluen Botanic Park, ready for its Tulip Festival, which starts on Tuesday.
More than 150,000 tulips will be in bloom, as part of Springtime at Araluen.
With uncertainty during the planning event, the team at Araluen introduced a new idea this year — Show Us Your Bulbs, with community members growing their own tulips at home.
“We were unsure the festival would go ahead,” explains general manager Suzy Parravicini.
But it is, and Suzy says: “It will be so fantastic to welcome all the homebound tulip growers to this year’s event.”
The tulip planting was undertaken during July by small groups of volunteers, supporting Araluen Botanic Park’s garden crew.
The festival also marks the reopening of Chalet Healy Cafe and Roundhouse.
