Athletic Bilbao have snapped a four-match winless streak with a crushing 4-0 rout of Cadiz in La Liga.
Alex Berenguer scored twice in the first half with Unai Lopez (15th) and Inaki Williams (52nd) chipping in with goals for Athletic.
The win moves the Basque Country club to 10th place in the league standings.
It was the third straight loss for Cadiz, who drop to 15th and three points above from the relegation zone after a sixth league match without a win.
Athletic coach Marcelino, who has revitalised the club since arriving at the start of the year, rested some regular starters after a tough streak of matches in which they won the Spanish Super Cup and qualified for the Spanish Cup semi-finals.
The visitors took the lead on five minutes when Yuri Berchiche’s long ball forward was turned on by Inaki Williams for Berenguer to convert.
Unai Lopez curled a free-kick through a gap in the Cadiz wall to double the advantage before Iker Muniain set up Berenguer for his second and Athletic’s third on 29 minutes.
Seven minutes after the restart a long pass out of defence from Unai Nunez was chased down by Williams and he sprinted clear of the Cadiz defence to shoot past Jeremias Ledesma.
