Big Bash League: Sydney Sixers star Josh Philippe run out against Perth Scorchers in final | Ralph-Lauren

It was always going to take something remarkable to stop Josh Philippe in his tracks.

The WA and Sydney Sixers star has destroyed his former Perth Scorchers teammates several times in the last couple of seasons.

But he was run out in stunning fashion in tonight’s Big Bash League decider at the SCG before he had the chance to repeat the dose this time around after a horror mix-up with opening partner James Vince.

Both Philippe and Vince ended up at the strikers’ end midway through the fourth over, giving the Scorchers the simplest dismissals to boost their hopes of a record fourth BBL title.

Philippe, the BBL10 player of the tournament and last season’s grand final hero, departed for nine just as he was starting to heat up.

Vince looked rattled straight after but didn’t take long to re-gain his composure to post his second consecutive half-century against the Scorchers after his unbeaten 98 in the Challenger Final.
