COVID-19: Tom Gleeson cancels Perth comedy shows after WA closes NSW border | Ralph Lauren

Comedian Tom Gleeson has been forced to cancel Perth comedy shows after WA slammed shut the border with New South Wales today.

The WA Government this morning banned travel from NSW to WA after 14 new COVID-19 cases were linked to the surging Bondi cluster.

The Hard Quiz host said he had been set to perform here soon, but took to social media to reveal he has been told to turn around after landing at Perth Airport.

“Just arrived in Perth to be told NSW residents aren’t allowed in,” he posted on Twitter an hour ago.

Despite the 47-year-old being fully vaccinated (with the Pfizer jab as revealed on his digital certificate, which he posted online), it didn’t make a difference.

“I’ve visited no exposure sites, no hotspots and here’s the fun part … I’M FULLY VACCINATED! LOL! (Sorry for cancelled gigs Perth. I did my best.),” he continued.

While the Gold Logie winner toured his Lighten Up show around the country over the past year, there were no public shows he was advertised as playing here in coming weeks

It is believed Gleeson was coming to WA for corporate gigs.

Unsurprisingly, the Gold Logie winner’s followers echoed his frustrations.
