The Mount Pleasant home was built by AMG Home Builders with an emphasis on low-maintenance family living.

Designed by architecture firm Motivo Design Studio, the client wanted the home to have a flexible and adaptive approach.

“The clients requested a modern, warm and low-maintenance design that was family-friendly,” Motivo Design Studio Design Director Shane Fragomeni said.

“The home also had to be both functional and adaptive to suit the growing family’s needs.”

Upon entry, you are instantly greeted with an immersive outdoor area, featuring an inviting pool and a cosy atmosphere that embraces the home’s natural surrounds.

“The brief for the exterior design was to tailor it around the view of the river,” Mr Fragomeni said.

“In keeping with this, we angled the front to ensure your eye was directed to this beautiful view.

“The timber castellation gives a warm aesthetic while offering a low-maintenance solution.”

Stepping through the modern front door with the same timber featured on the facade, the generous light-filled lobby and grand staircase takes centre stage.

Continuing on the ground floor, you only have to take a few steps before you are graced by one of the marvels of this home – the expansive open-plan area.

Maximising on practicality, the kitchen sits pretty right next to the bar – all overlooking the spacious open-plan living area.

The kitchen features a solid island bench with plentiful storage options, as well as contemporary cabinetry.

“The kitchen also hides a scullery that, when closed, looks like an extension of cabinets,” he said.

Also featuring an adjacent entertainer’s bar, this space has been designed to fully accommodate the client’s desire for a practical space.

The seamless transition between the dining and living areas is also apparent, with a free-flowing layout that makes hosting guests easy breezy.

A double-sided fireplace accessible between the living area and the outdoor alfresco, as well as a dining table which converts into a pool table cements this home as a multifunctional entertainer’s paradise.

According to Mr Fragomeni, the open-plan area has been designed to let as much natural light through as possible, with an abundance of windows and sliding doors being included in this zone.

“The unique orientation of the home meant natural sunlight throughout the day, and the clients requested this be maximised,” he said.

Rounding off this level a guest suite to ensure your loved ones and visitors can stay comfortably, as well as a laundry and mudroom to keep any messes out of sight.

Upstairs, the main bedroom is luxurious – arguably the highlight of this home’s more secluded spaces.

“The master bedroom offers a hotel room feel with its own private access to the balcony, and an ensuite that makes you feel as if you are at a day spa,” Mr Fragomeni said.

“We listened carefully to the client’s wants and needs, whilst also offering them alternative progressive solutions to lifestyle living,” Mr Fragomeni said.

“The holistic design approach of this home is most beneficial, as it has created spaces that speak to each other and keep a continual story throughout.”

Mr Fragomeni said the home was a one-off design with modern clean lines and with warm aspects.

“We never have two homes the same, as each client has individual requirements,” he said. “We sit down and listen to these in order to create a space which is functional and yet elegant.”
