Fremantle Dockers to host Brisbane Lions, West Coast Eagles to battle Gold Coast Suns in round five of AFLW | Ralph Lauren

Fremantle are preparing for a heavyweight clash against fellow premiership contenders Brisbane this Saturday at Fremantle Oval in what will be their fourth home game from the first five rounds.

West Coast will also play at home next weekend, with a meeting against Gold Coast Suns set for Sunday from 2.10pm.

The Dockers are now clear on top of the ladder after the Lions went down to an Erin Phillips-inspired Adelaide by 12 points, their first loss of the season.

Fremantle last met Brisbane in round five last year, when they claimed an 18-point win in front of more than 4000 fans.

Goalsneak Sabreena Duffy was the star with four goals, combining with dual club champion Kiara Bowers, who had 21 touches and 15 tackles.

The Dockers are on an incredible 11-game winning streak, with their last loss coming in the 2019 preliminary final.

Fremantle have also built an imposing record at Fremantle Oval, having won their past games there, last losing at their fortress in March of 2018 when Greater Western Sydney claimed an 18-point win.

The Eagles will get just their second chance to play in front of home fans when they take on the winless Suns from 2.10pm at Mineral Resources Park.

These two sides met last year in round six, with Gold Coast forward Kalinda Howarth booting four goals to lead the visitors to a 25-point victory.

West Coast have played their last three games on the road, including two interstate trips after their round one loss to Adelaide.

Fixtures beyond round five are yet to be released, with both the Eagles and Dockers having played every non-Victorian team by the end of next weekend.

This likely to mean various AFLW teams will hit the road for long periods to help get the final four rounds played.
