Launched by GO Homes in collaboration with DevelopmentWA and Lendlease, the Go Green at Alkimos initiative could provide homeowners at certain communities in the region with a saving of up to 50 per cent on energy bills through sustainable features.

In addition to GO Homes’ guaranteed minimum six-star energy rating, homes built as part of the initiative will also include bonus sustainability features worth $12,000.

This will include up to 5.94-kilowatt MySolar PV system and an e-zone smart air-conditioning touchscreen to save energy by only running the air-conditioning in the rooms you are using.

“At GO Homes we have always had a focus on ensuring we do the right thing by our clients and the environment,” GO Homes Sales Manager Rhys Watters said.

“When our clients move into their new home, their ongoing running costs are minimised, we do this with solar-passive design and ensuring a minimum NatHERS six-star energy rating.”

According to Lendlease WA Development General Manager Anthony Rowbottam, the collaboration is based on shared sustainability values.

“Alkimos Beach was the first Australian community to achieve a six-star Green Star certification by the Green Building Council of Australia, and more recently Alkimos Vista was awarded a five-star Green Star certification,” he said.

“Both communities have been purposefully designed in harmony with their natural surrounds and are leaders in sustainability in Australia. Our environmental design standards are consistently proving to deliver lower energy and water bills for our residents, with participants of our eco-coaching programs generally finding their energy consumption is 45 per cent lower than typical Perth homes and water consumption 50 per cent lower.”

For customers building with GO Homes at Alkimos Beach or Alkimos Vista, the Go Green at Alkimos bonus is available now until June 30.

“Our collaboration with GO Homes at Alkimos Beach and Alkimos Vista demonstrates our progress and commitment to delivering a sustainable coastal masterplanned community of global significance that is moving towards carbon-neutral living,” DevelopmentWA Chief Executive Officer Frank Marra said.

Additional client benefits

  • 20 additional LED lights, which reduce energy consumption by up to 80 per cent compared to standard bulbs.
  • An Enviroheat 250 EH1-15 hot-water heat pump.
  • Up to $4800 for a streetscape elevation upgrade.
