Joe Ingles has played a key role as the red-hot Utah Jazz downed Dallas 116-104 to move above the Los Angeles Lakers into top spot on the NBA’s western conference standings.

Ingles had a season-high 21 points – all from three-pointers – and eight assists as the Jazz won their 10th straight game to move to 14-4 after a slow start to the season.

He was well supported by centre Gobert, with 29 points and 20 rebounds, and Jordan Clarkson with 31 points.

Ingles’ tally of seven three-pointers against the Mavericks tied his career high and was just one shy of the franchise record.

“Over my seven years here, we’ve had injuries and different things and guys have had to step up and play bigger roles, different roles,” said the Australian swingman, who started in the absence of the injured Donovan Mitchell.

“The most fun thing about being on a team like this is there are no egos involved.

“We love playing together.”

Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris all starred to secure the Philadelphia 76ers a thrilling 107-106 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Harris knocked down a 12-foot jumper with 2.4 seconds remaining to nail the win for the hosts.

Embiid led the Sixers with 28 points and Harris contributed 24.

Simmons compiled his 31st career triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists as the Sixers improved to 10-1 at home.

“Some people think we haven’t played anybody,” Harris said.

“For us, we wanted to go against the champs. We wanted to see where we’re at.”

LeBron James paced the Lakers with 34 points.

It was the Lakers’ first loss on the road this season after winning their opening 10 away games.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors went down 115-108 to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Norman Powell had 26 points, Kyle Lowry (21) and Boomers big man Aron Baynes (11), to go with six rebounds and two assists for the Raptors.

The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Boston Celtics 110-106 with DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge contributing 21 and 20 points respectively.

Australian Patty Mills added 12 points.

In Atlanta, the visiting Brooklyn Nets beat the Atlanta Hawks 132-128 in overtime with star trio Kevin Durant (32 points), James Harden (31) and Kyrie Irving (26) the main contributors.

In other matches, Cleveland beat Detroit 122-107, Indiana defeated Charlotte 116-106, Miami were overpowered 109-82 by Denver, Oklahoma City accounted for Phoenix 102-97, New Orleans rolled over Washington 124-106 and Orlando went down 121-107 to Sacramento.
