Mark McGowan is set to reveal whether he will press the border button, shutting off travel between Victoria and WA.
While authorities have scrambled to map the outbreak sparked by a Melbourne case and bring it under control, WA’s Premier has so far resisted the urge to cut off travel between his State and Victoria.
However, with the number of cases rising, that could be about to change.
The COVID-19 cluster in Melbourne’s north expanded to 26 infections as 12 new cases were diagnosed overnight.
Mr McGowan is due to make a statement at 9.15am.
