The Premier is set to face off with the Opposition leader tomorrow night and says he wants to avoid the aggressiveness employed by former US President Donald Trump.
Channel 7 will host the only leaders’ debate from 7pm with a panel that includes Geof Parry, Jessica Page and The West Australian’s State political editor Peter Law.
Boxer accused of crowbar bashing in WA’s South West
A former semi-professional boxer is accused of chasing a heavily pregnant woman with a crowbar before smashing the bar into her housemate’s face in their South West home.
Joel Peter Casey, who was known as “2 Gunz” during his decade-long light heavyweight boxing career, became so infatuated with the woman that he had exhibited “stalker-like behaviour”.
He allegedly forced his way into the victim’s Dalyellup home on December 6, armed with a 30cm crowbar, Bunbury Magistrate’s Court heard.
Perth footy fans set for pre-season derby double
Fremantle and West Coast are locked in to battle it out in front of crowds at Optus Stadium this pre-season.
It will be the second time the two teams meet, with the WA rivals playing with no crowds at Mineral Resources Park this weekend.
A reduced capacity is expected for the second derby on Sunday, March 7.
Alleged rape victim’s message to Linda Reynolds
Defence Minister Linda Reynolds has been hospitalised ahead of her address at the National Press Club today.
It comes as her former staff member Brittany Higgins is due to speak with federal police about her alleged rape in Senator Reynolds office in 2019.
A statement from Senator Reynolds’ office said she had taken advice from her cardiologist who told her to take a period of medical leave.
Brittany Higgins, who has spoken openly about the alleged assault, sent her a message after she was hospitalised on advice from her doctor.
Perth leads Australian boom in luxury properties
Perth’s luxury properties are growing in price faster than anywhere else in Australia.
The West Australian capital was the top ranked Australian city for luxury price growth in a global report by commercial real estate agency Knight Frank, coming in at number 34 with 3.6 per cent annual growth.
It was up from 0.9 per cent growth one year earlier, when it was ranked 63 – and the last Australian ranked city.
