Simone Zaza scored a brace for struggling Torino as they rallied to a 2-2 stoppage-time draw against Serie A newcomers Benevento on Friday.
Il Toro, who this week hired coach Davide Nicola after firing Marco Giampaolo on Tuesday, are now third last in the three-team drop zone at the halfway mark of the Italian season.
Benevento stayed in 11th place, eight points clear of the Turinese.
Nicolas Viola converted a first-half penalty and Gianluca Lapadula doubled the newcomers’ lead in the 49th, but Zaza pulled one back two minutes later and struck again three minutes into added time.
Matchday 19 continues with leaders AC Milan meeting Atalanta in a regional derby on Saturday and second-place Inter Milan, who are chasing three points, visiting Udinese.
